Morning Is Broken (Splashjam)

Morning is Broken was created by myself and a team of three others during SplashJam 2016 for the theme ‘beginnings’; I acted as writer and narrative/level designer.

Designed as a 2D side-scroller, the narrative was that the player would repeatedly wake up in a dream, and that things would be slightly different every time they awoke. This would allow us to reuse assets and play on the surreal nature of dreams.

Unfortunately we were unable to produce a playable version of the game (in no small part due to the entire team being struck down with seasickness when our boat hit rough seas) but I wrote about the design of the game here:
